To get the Arduino Soil Moisture Sensor functioning all you will need is to connect the VCC and GND pins to your Arduino device (also, compatible development board) and you will receive a SIG out which will accordingly depend on the amount of water in the soil.

The two large exposed pads function as probes for the sensor, together acting as a variable resistor. Hence, the more water that is in the soil means the better the conductivity between the pads will be and will result in a lower resistance, and a higher SIG out.

Arduino Soil Moisture Sensor Features

  • Adjustable sensitivity via on board potentiometer.
  • The working voltage of 3.3 V to 5 V
  • Control panel PCB size: 3 cm * 1.6 cm soil probe size: 6 cm * 2 cm
  • Uses the LM393 chips, known for its operation stability
